USE — Chat & generate
Chat, vision, long-document reading, real file generation, and data analysis — how you work with your AI every day.
USE is where your shaped AI does real work. Chat is the center, but it's surrounded by things generic chatbots don't do: grounded answers with sources, real file generation, document reading, and analysis.
Where to do it
Everything in this page happens in Chat (sidebar). Start a new chat from Chat → New chat, or open an existing conversation from the session list on the left. The model switcher sits at the top of the chat, and attached files/artifacts appear alongside the conversation.
Choosing your AI and model
Every chat starts with two choices:
- Your AI — pick the persona you want to talk to (your Tyrex AI, or any AI you've built or installed).
- The model — the brain for this conversation. Switch per chat:

Switching models mid-conversation is fine — the context carries over.
Grounded answers with sources
When your AI uses your knowledge base, it shows the sources it drew from. You can click through to verify, or ask it to expand a point with more of the material. This is what separates a personal AI from a confident guesser.
Reading long documents
Upload a long document — a textbook, a contract, a manual — and ask questions across all of it. The AI searches the full text instead of just the first screen, so questions about chapter 12 work as well as questions about the cover.
Vision
Your AI can look at images: screenshots, photos, diagrams, scanned pages. Ask it to read a chart, describe a design, extract a table, or explain what's in a photo.
Generating real files
Ask for a deliverable and get a file you can actually use:
- PDF — summaries, reports, one-pagers
- PowerPoint — slide decks from an outline or a document
- Word — drafts, letters, structured documents
- Excel — data extracts, tables, calculations
Files are generated with real formatting, previewable and downloadable. Refine with follow-up instructions and regenerate.
Analyzing data
Upload a spreadsheet and ask questions about it: totals, breakdowns, anomalies, trends, charts. The AI reads the data itself — no need to describe it first.

Usage note
Chatting, file generation, vision, and reading all consume usage units. The usage meters — your remaining 5-hour window and monthly cap — are shown in Settings → Billing and on the Plans page, which you can open from the usage meter.
